We went apple picking at the Eckerts Grafton Farm. I liked that it is a small farm, which made it less crowded. They had peddle cars, tubes and maze for the kids to play. The tractor ride to the orchard was fun. We picked Jonathan and Pixie Crunch apples fresh from the trees. The Pixie Crunch apples were delicious to eat. The fun part was you could eat as many as you want in the orchard! Their country store sold a variety of items such as candies, pastas, pickled items, fresh fruits, pies, baked goods, salsa’s and ciders. This was my first time to this location and will definitely be back again. Thank you Eckert’s for the beautiful family memories!!
It was a Friday morning, so not crowded. Fun things to do for the kids. This one did not charge an arm and a leg $2.50 per person. Wagon ride, apples & pumpkins. Apples a little pricey $1.99 a pound. Pumpkins $.68 a pound, but they way more than you think for the size. Cute little store, prices good. Winery on premise, but weren't serving food. Great family & friends day.
We went apple picking. Everyone working was friendly and knowledgeable. There werenple ty of activities for the kids; a maze, some peddle cars, a place ground, and some giant tubes to roll and race in. Oh and lots of photo ops everywhere. The apples we picked were perfect for my homemade apple pie. This was my first time to this location but we will definitely be back again.
Great little farm with a big farm price tag. My only complaint is how costly this place is. It was $21 just to go on the field and then we managed to pay an additional $40 for apples. For the price they charge you would think they would stay on top of bathroom necessities, such as soap and paper towels or even have indoor facilities, but, they don't.
The play area was great and there were plenty of areas to take photos. The ground are well taken care of and clean. But because of the cost we will likely not visit again for a while.
This place is great to take your kids to. There is apple picking, pumpkin picking, tricycle track, a playground, a small theater, and a store to buy the many things this farm makes. I highly recommend taking your kids here
This is a cute little place to pick apples and pumpkins or other seasonal fruits. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Nothing crazy but a good way to spend a few hours on the weekend with friends or family.
One of my family's great annual traditions is picking fruit at Eckert's. While it's true that their prices are similar to a grocery store's, nothing beats the pleasure of picking your own berries, peaches, etc.
You pay by weight, and get to enjoy snacking on fresh fruit - fruit you KNOW is fresh because you personally took it off the tree.
You also pay a per person entrance fee, which doesn't bother me - I'm sure it covers an operating cost, but really, if you consider how much fruit you and the kids eat while you're in the fields, there's not much room to complain about the entry fee.
There is a restroom areas with portable toilets. Also, there is a hand washing station to use before and after fruit picking.
There is a playground area for kids (and adults) to play in after the "work" is done.
I look forward to coming here for every picking season.
Best place to pick apples, peaches, pumpkins, blackberries! Has a play area for the kids and even a place to feed small animals. Live music, country store, little bit of everything. Make sure to try the Honeycrisp apples!
